Discover Your Home’s Hidden Potential and Value – Financing Renovation

Posted by Emma Weldon on January 23, 2017

Chances are, your house is the most expensive thing you’ll ever buy. While financing renovation may sound daunting, the right moves can be a smart investment! Renovating your home is a great way to increase its value while also allowing you to customize its look and feel. Whether you’re dreaming of an Atlanta kitchen renovation, Atlanta bathroom renovation, built-in storage space, an extra bathroom, Atlanta whole house renovation, or any other project, Home ReBuilders can walk you through each step of the process.

After you connect with Home ReBuilders to pursue your project, we’ll work with you to hear your needs and wants, design your dream space, and provide plans and a budget. Once you have this information, your Account Manager can refer you to a remodeling mortgage specialist and provide names of lenders who have helped many of our past clients.

Can you believe these two photos are the same house? Renovating an older home – or a less-glamorous home – is a great way to get more bang for your buck!

To pursue a loan, you’ll need two key items in addition to your renovation schematics: a credit report and an appraisal of your home. The better your credit score, the easier your lending process will be. Don’t know your up-to-date credit score? One way to check your credit report and get your credit score is to go to myfico.com and print it out! Our lenders suggest choosing your Equifax report. Be sure to check your credit report carefully and make sure everything on it is correct before pursuing lending options. After your credit score is in order, you’ll need an appraisal. To get your home’s “after the renovation value,” your appraiser will consider the current state of your house as well as the renovation plans (specifications and costs).

Once you have your credit report and appraisal ready, your lending process should go smoothly! Now, you’ll need to work with a lender to determine the lending options that will work best for you. On our website, you can find contact information for some of our trusted lenders, as well as explore information about lending options, including:

 – Home Equity Line of Credit and Equity Loans

 – Cash Out Refinance

 – The Renovation Loan

 – Close Before Construction Begins

Once your loan is in place, Home ReBuilders will get to work! We’ll create your dream home with durable, long-lasting materials and value-added touches that will delight your family and potential future buyers.
