Home ReBuilders turns the calendar on its 25th year!
-Diane Stephenson founded “The Fix-It People” as a handyman and small remodeling business, later renaming it Home ReBuilders.
- Bill Bartlett purchased the small handyman company. The original offices were located in Inman Park next to Deacon Burrton’s fried chicken restaurant. Our office manager claims she can still smell that chicken!
- With visions of a much larger firm, and larger scale projects, the need for architectural design was a must. In 1990, Home ReBuilders was named a “Top 50” Remodeler by Remodeling Magazine and was off and running in the in-town neighborhoods. Working in tandem with outside architects, the focus was on designing and building creative projects.
- Home ReBuilders wins Georgia Contractor of the Year and adds an architect as part of its fulltime staff. Today there two architects, two intern architects and two kitchen and bath designers.
- Home ReBuilders outgrows the Inman Park space and relocates to Ansley Park into a small bungalow house purchased from the Johnson sisters who abandoned it after a fire in the early 90’s. Remodeler Magazine awards Home ReBuilders its national “Renaissance Award” with its Grand Award for Design Build.
- Home ReBuilders launches its first Web site. Outgrowing our space once again, Home ReBuilders decides to stay put and renovate! The roof came off in December of 1998. Under construction for the better part of the year, we move into the new office spaces on the new second floor in November of 1999.
- With new offices demanding an updated look overall, Home ReBuilders introduces a new logo and look for the company. After renovations on the main floor of the building, Home ReBuilders opens the first luxury kitchen and bath showroom for a remodeling firm.
HGTV chooses three Home ReBuilders projects to be filmed and featured on their “Before & After” show. And our first year to be named Top Remodeling firm in Atlanta by the Atlanta Business Chronicle's Book of Lists.
– Retooling, Home ReBuilders introduces ongoing field training for a “Brains & Brawn” approach to managing jobs. Invested in technology from top to bottom for improved performance.
- Home ReBuilders launches a new division of handyman services and names it DogGoneHandy. It is marketed and run as a separate business.
